Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Turkish Ambassador, Affirms Strengthening Bilateral Relations, Supporting Political Track to End Regional Crises
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received this morning at his office His Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Anil Bora Inan, during which the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and developments in the regional political landscape.
H.E. stressed the depth of the relationship between Baghdad and Ankara and the importance of leveraging shared interests to strengthen, consolidate, and sustain it, noting that Iraq has come a long way in ending the political deadlock and forming the new government, and reaffirming his support for Mr. Ali Al-Zaidi's efforts in forming the government and resolving constitutional entitlements.
H.E. affirmed the importance of bringing the ongoing regional escalation to an end, reiterating his support for the negotiating track and affirming that the solution to the region's crises is a political one, however loud the language of escalation and threats may grow.
H.E. also called on the countries of the region to take the initiative in ending wars on all fronts.
