Sayyid Al-Hakeem Calls to Address Economic Challenges, Revitalize Productive Sectors
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met this evening with His Excellency the Prime Minister, Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, where both sides discussed several political and service-related issues, alongside the latest developments at the domestic and regional levels.
His Eminence stressed the necessity of expediting the completion of the cabinet formation by naming ministers to the vacant portfolios, with emphasis on adopting criteria of competence and expertise in selecting figures capable of managing government institutions and meeting citizens' needs.
His Eminence affirmed that the current phase calls for a focus on fundamental priorities, foremost among them addressing economic challenges through diversifying Iraq's oil export outlets, revitalizing productive sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology, as well as tackling the administrative bureaucracy that impedes development and progress.
On the file of external relations, His Eminence called for consolidating Iraq's relations with countries of the region and the world on the basis of mutual interests and respect for the country's sovereignty, pointing to the importance of channeling regional and international support for the government in ways that are positively reflected in citizens' lives and the services rendered to them.
His Eminence also renewed His call to strengthen the role of local governments and empower them to exercise their constitutional and legal prerogatives, as they are the bodies closest to citizens and most attuned to their service and livelihood needs.
Regarding regional developments, His Eminence affirmed the necessity of working toward the establishment of lasting peace in the region, calling on regional states to adopt dialogue and mutual understanding as the path to resolving crises and preventing further escalation.
