Sayyid Al-Hakeem Discusses Bilateral Relations with Turkish Ambassador, Renews Call Ending Regional War

His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, His Excellency Anil Bora Inan. The meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries and their friendly peoples, and ways to strengthen and advance them in the interest of both sides.

H.E. touched on the most pressing challenges facing Iraq, affirming that the economic challenge tops the list of priorities. H.E. noted that Iraq possesses vast potential and resources, yet suffers from a liquidity shortage stemming from the repercussions of the ongoing war in the region, calling for diversification of national income sources and multiple crude oil export outlets via the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.

H.E. stressed that achieving the desired economic diversification requires activating and invigorating the productive sectors, foremost among them agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and the utilization of modern technology in service of development.

On regional affairs, H.E. renewed the call to end the war in the region and restore stability, holding the nations of the world to a historic and moral responsibility to work toward ending this conflict, whose repercussions have now extended to engulf the entire region and the international community.
