Sayyid Al-Hakeem, From Sheikh Faris Al-Fahdawi’s Guesthouse: Anbar Possesses Elements to Become Key Iraq’s Economic Tributary
At the guesthouse of Sheikh Faris Taha Al-Fahdawi, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a gathering of sheikhs and dignitaries of Albu Fahd and the tribes of Anbar province, recalling with them a long history of relations dating back to the marja'iyya of Imam Al-Hakeem (may his secret be sanctified), calling for preserving this legacy and passing it on to future generations, as it is the relationship of a single homeland. H.E. noted that Iraq has overcome terrorism, and that security and safety have become defining features of Iraq, explaining that terrorism attempted to turn Iraqis against one another along ethnic and sectarian lines, while affirming that Iraq's diversity is a source of enrichment for Iraqi society.
H.E. said: "Our visit to Anbar carries a social and outreach character with the sheikhs, dignitaries, and people of Anbar," calling for deepening love and connection within the single homeland.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem noted that Iraq relies primarily on oil for its budget and revenues, and that regional conditions have prevented diversifying this, pointing out that Iraq suffers from a liquidity crisis, not a crisis of capability, and called for leveraging these challenges by finding economic solutions and activating productive sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology, explaining that Anbar possesses the potential in all these areas.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem called for diversifying export outlets, saying that activating oil pipelines strengthens partnerships and makes Iraq a target for new markets, at a time when Iraq is seeking to raise production to nine million barrels, which requires bringing in foreign investment from major companies, pointing to the importance of eliminating bureaucratic obstacles.
