Sayyid Al-Hakeem Urges Supporting Farmers, Reviving Marshlands, Strengthening Water Security
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received several MPs from Maysan Governorate, commending the history of this governorate and the heroism of its tribes and people in confronting dictatorship and combating terrorism, calling for diligent work to serve Maysan and its people and complete the projects related to it.
H.E. explained the nature of the challenges surrounding Iraq, noting that the economic reality represents a major challenge at the current stage, affirming that this challenge is a result of Iraq being affected by events in the region and the decline of its oil exports, while considering it an opportunity to move toward strategic solutions in diversifying oil export outlets and ending the state of a rentier state and single-source income.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem also affirmed the importance of activating productive sectors in Iraq such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology, stressing the necessity of investing in Maysan's agricultural, industrial, and tourism capabilities, as well as its capabilities in the field of the oil industry and energy. He called for supporting farmers and cultivators and ensuring a fair share of water for agriculture, reviving the marshlands, and confronting desertification.
