Sayyid Al-Hakeem Urges Youth To Take Initiative, Develop Capabilities, Draw On Generational Experience

His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, affirmed the importance of integration between generations, calling on youth to take the initiative and develop their capabilities and potential, while drawing at the same time on the experience and expertise of qualified professionals, as he stressed the necessity of diversifying the Iraqi economy, reforming the banking system, and combating corruption.
This came during H.E.'s meeting at the Baghdad Diwan with a gathering of youth elites and talents, where H.E. renewed his condolences on the occasion of the Arba'een of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and the anniversary of the passing of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his household), commending the Arba'een march and describing it as the largest in the world in terms of its annual timing and generosity, noting that it has become a symbol of Iraqis' generosity, morals, and chivalry, in addition to being a humanitarian phenomenon.
    Youth Pillars of the Nation
On the subject of youth, H.E. affirmed that youth represent the pillars of the nation, given their high proportion within Iraqi society, calling for investing their energies and channeling them into fuel for reform and reconstruction, and not allowing them to turn into negative energy.
H.E. noted that H.E. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi, along with a number of ministers, governors, deputies, and directors-general, as well as prominent political figures, belong to the youth segment, affirming that youth have proven themselves through their competence and capabilities, and have gained real opportunities to participate in running the state.
    Generational Integration, Drawing On Experience
H.E. stressed the importance of generational integration between youth and the experienced, noting that this integration represents an approach to life and a practice followed in its various details.
H.E. affirmed the necessity of benefiting from the experience of specialists and experienced, qualified individuals, while rejecting the adoption of a single standard for retiring employees, calling on youth in turn to take the initiative after training and development, and to work on raising their own capabilities and potential.
Economic Crisis Opportunity For Economic Diversification
On the economic front, H.E. explained that Iraq is going through a difficult economic situation as a result of the halt in oil exports, noting that the salaries file represents the foremost concern of the Iraqi state and its executive apparatus, alongside the necessity of activating the agricultural sector and the contracting sector, given their role in stimulating the economy.
H.E. expressed hope for a breakthrough in regional conditions, given the pressures the Strait of Hormuz poses on the global economy, while calling at the same time for reform of the banking system.
H.E. affirmed that the current crisis represents a real opportunity to diversify export outlets through the Red and Mediterranean Seas, and to transition from a rentier economy to a diversified economy based on agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and technology, noting that this challenge contributed to entrusting an economic figure with running the state.
Independence Of Iraqi Decision-Making, Distancing From Axes
On the political front, H.E. affirmed that Iraq's interest lies in the independence of its political decision and its openness to all regional axes.
Resolving Arms File Through Dialogue And Understanding
Regarding the armed factions, H.E. affirmed the necessity of viewing them as factions that gave martyrs in defense of Iraq against ISIS, citing the images of martyrs that fill the streets of Iraqi cities.
H.E. noted that Iraq has moved past the phase of security challenges, and is nearing the conclusion of the International Coalition's mission on its territory, including the Kurdistan Region, affirming that the arms file will be addressed within the framework of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
H.E. explained the necessity of addressing the arms file through dialogue and understanding, and prioritizing the public interest over private interests, stressing the importance of combating corruption and continuing on this path.
H.E. warned against attempts to "demonize everything" in Iraq, affirming the necessity of dealing with challenges in a spirit of national responsibility and prioritizing the public interest.
