Sayyid Al-Hakeem Urges Influential States to Assume Responsibilities to Halt Escalation, Restoring Stability
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received His Excellency Ambassador Glenn Miles, Australia's Ambassador to Baghdad, and discussed with him bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem outlined the nature of the challenges confronting Iraq, noting that Iraq has overcome political and social challenges, and is facing a major challenge in the economic field as a result of events in the region and declining exports, affirming that Iraq possesses many economic resources, while suffering from a liquidity crisis, and will be able to overcome it as it overcame previous challenges.
Regarding bilateral relations between the two countries, H.E. affirmed the importance of a country the size of Australia to Iraq, calling for the exchange of expertise and experiences in the field of agriculture and irrigation techniques.
Regarding events in the region, H.E. called for halting the escalation in the region, noting that de-escalation is necessary for the stability of the region and the world, and placing on the countries of the world, especially the influential ones, the responsibility of calming the atmosphere and restoring stability.
