Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Agriculture, Industry, Tourism, Investment, Technology, Diverse Economy Pillars

From Al-Mahmoudiya District in Baghdad, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a gathering of sheikhs, dignitaries, and tribal members of Al-Mahmoudiya, congratulating those present on the month of the Prophet's noble birth, and calling for drawing lessons from the biography of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), noting that the biography of our Most Noble Prophet was characterized by unity, and by bringing together the nation's word, cohesion, and unity.
H.E. called for setting priorities as a prelude to confronting challenges, noting that the region is living through a state of war that has cast its shadow over Iraq's economic reality, stressing social cohesion in facing these challenges, and warning against the effect of division in increasing suffering, considering unity and solidarity a prelude to invoking divine mercy, and stressing the importance of addressing problems at their outset.
H.E. considered the current circumstance an exceptional one, marked by a force majeure preventing Iraq from investing its capabilities, noting that the crisis is temporary and short-term, which requires enduring the hardship and setting priorities.
H.E. placed employees, retirees, social welfare, and the rights of farmers and contractors at the top of the priorities, since fulfilling these obligations is necessary for sustaining economic activity, providing job opportunities, and investing in and reclaiming land, stressing the need to diversify export outlets through pipelines toward the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, calling for turning the challenge into an opportunity, and affirming the diversification of the economy through agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology.
H.E. affirmed that confining weapons to the hands of the state is a constitutional and legal demand, stipulating that accomplishing this task requires adopting dialogue and understanding, and calling for combating corruption and recovering public funds for the general treasury so that it may be an important factor in stabilizing conditions and delivering services, calling for this effort to continue with a focus on major files.
