Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Honoring Sacrifices Against ISIS Complements State's Arms Consolidation
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance and Leader of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with a gathering of women's organizational leadership in the holy governorate of Najaf, extending his congratulations on the Prophet's noble birth (Mawlid) and the anniversary of the birth of Imam Al-Sadiq (PBUH), while also renewing his condolences on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Shaheed Al-Mihrab, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammed Baqir Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified).
H.E. pointed to important traits in the character of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), including his leadership quality, as H.E. was a leader who considered the public interest and did not think of vengeance, in addition to his simplicity and down-to-earth nature, noting the importance of the social dimension within the Islamic approach, which is evident in acts of worship and transactions alike, such as fasting, prayer, pilgrimage, and almsgiving.
H.E. also pointed to the scale of the targeting faced by Al-Hikma National Movement, explaining the importance of distinguishing between different types of objectors: some base their objections on a preexisting stance, while others are simply confused about the matter, and each requires its own approach to engagement and clarification. H.E. stressed the importance of explanation and clarification, and of illustrating the nature of positions and their impact, affirming that targeting rises directly in proportion to influence, the greater the influence, the greater the targeting, and calling for openly displaying movement identity and taking pride in Al-Hikma's approach, history, and symbols.
H.E. addressed the matter of consolidating weapons under state authority, describing it as a national demand, and commending all efforts that contributed to achieving victory over ISIS, defeating terrorism, and restoring the state, affirming that weapons are to be handed over to the Popular Mobilization Forces as an official security institution operating within the framework of the state and under the command of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
