Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Iraq President Affirm Need for Joint Efforts to Face Economic, Financial Challenges
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Nizar Amedi, and the meeting discussed developments in Iraq's political scene and the challenges it faces in the current phase.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem and His Excellency the President called for joint efforts by all to overcome these challenges, especially at the economic and financial level, explaining the need to benefit from the lessons of the current crisis, foremost raising oil production, diversifying oil export outlets, diversifying the economy, and moving away from the rentier state model, affirming that Iraq possesses the capabilities that qualify it to build a diversified economy that guarantees the rights of individuals and generations.
Regarding the completion of the government cabinet, the two sides affirmed the importance of the political blocs finalizing their choices and granting confidence to competent figures capable of managing the ministries and turning challenges into opportunities for success.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem also stressed the need to abide by the Constitution's provision that Iraq cannot be a corridor, a base, or a launching point for threatening neighboring countries, and the need to adhere to Iraq's approach of openness to all in accordance with its interests and the preservation of its sovereignty.
