Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Restore Regional Stability, End Escalation Is Regional States, Influential Powers Responsibility
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, His Excellency Mr. Elbrus Kutrashev, and discussed with him developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region, as well as the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Moscow and ways to develop them in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries and the two friendly peoples.
H.E. called for working to restore stability in the region and end the state of escalation once and for all, urging the countries of the region and the influential powers in the world to play their role in restoring security and stability in the region.
H.E. pointed to the challenges facing Iraq, explaining that the most prominent is the economic challenge, calling for drawing lessons from this crisis and dealing with the repercussions of the economic challenge that has resulted in a financial crisis.
Regarding the confining of weapons to the hands of the state, H.E. stressed the need to deal with this file in an Iraqi manner, according to appropriate priorities and timelines, calling for adopting dialogue and understanding with the relevant parties.
H.E. also called for continuing the anti-corruption campaign and the recovery of public funds.
