Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem receives Speaker of Parliament Mr. Mohammed Al-Halbousi, discusses political scene developments
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of the National State Powers Alliance, received the Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Mohammed Al-Halbousi in his office on Tuesday, September 29, 2021, and discussed the developments of the political and security scene and the forthcoming election.
His Eminence stressed the importance of educating people on effective participation in the elections and called on everyone to compete based on electoral programs, away from any influences that may threaten the security of the voter and candidate. H.E. also pointed out the importance of international monitoring of the elections as it increases its transparency without compromising Iraq’s sovereignty.
The two sides discussed regional and international roles that Iraq is playing during the current phase. In addition, H.E. affirmed that it’s imperative to intensify the efforts to converge the views between the factions of the region to achieve the stability that will benefit Iraq’s interest.
