Sayyid Al-Hakeem commends retrieving the Dream of Gilgamesh tablet, calls upon government to take care of archeological sites
Sayyid Al-Hakeem, head of the National State Powers Alliance, commended the efforts of retrieving the Dream of Gilgamesh tablet, calling the government to take care of archeological sites.
His Eminence tweeted on Wednesday, 8 December 2021, “In the past few days, we have witnessed more than one event on the cultural and historical level in Iraq, beginning with the discovery of important archaeological sites in Dhi Qar to Iraq's restoration of the "Dream of Gilgamesh" tablet.which represent a part of the oldest literary works in human history. We are at a time when we commend on all of the efforts that contributed to its recovery. Yet, we urge them to keep working to retrieve all the smuggled artifacts.”
His Eminence called the Iraqi government and the concerned authorities to take care of the archaeological sites that are abundant in the cities of Iraq, especially as we witness a large number of Arab and foreign tourists that visit those sites.
