Sayyid Al-Hakeem to the Minister of Environment: The necessity to address desertification and make it a top priority
Sayyid Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, received Dr. Jassim Abdulaziz Al-Falahi, Minister of Environment on 16/5/2022, and listened to a detailed explanation of the environmental challenges facing Iraq in the next stage.
His Eminence stressed that desertification represents a serious challenge facing Iraq and threatening its national security. It must be made a top priority, calling for concerted efforts between the relevant authorities, state institutions, organizations, and societal powers to develop immediate and long-term solutions to this phenomenon,
His Eminence explained the importance of addressing environmental pollution in all its forms, and concentrating efforts on areas with the highest environmental pollution to reduce diseases and the spread of epidemics, calling for environmental education, and for the media to have a major role in this matter. H.E. also stressed the encouragement and honoring of everyone who contributes to preserving the environment to be a role model and success story for everyone to follow.
