Sayyid Al-Hakeem receives EU Ambassador, calls to activate joint agreements
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with the European Union's Ambassador, His Excellency Ville Varjola on 28/2/2023, and discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as bilateral ties between Iraq and the EU. His Eminence reiterated Iraq’s openness to everyone while seeking its interests and preserving its sovereignty. Furthermore, H.E. demonstrated Iraq's firm stance toward using dialogue to resolve regional issues, making it a prime meeting ground and an arena of dialogue, not an intersection.
H.E. called to activate a cooperation and partnership agreement with the EU for the support it will bring to Iraq in the fields of energy, climate change, and economic cooperation, in addition to maintaining good relationships with the EU countries and the region.
H.E. listened to His Excellency talk about the EU’s positive reflection on Baghdad’s transformation into an attraction for international delegations due to Iraq’s stability and the EU’s intention to switch the relationship with Iraq from grants to investing.
