Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraq’s current positive stage is unprecedented, all must consolidate, strengthen it
At the Baghdad Bureau of the Political, Academic, and Media Elites on 29/4/2023, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, deliberated with them on political matters and developments in the Iraqi and regional arena, indicating that Iraq is in an unprecedented positive phase in terms of security, social, political and economic stability. Noting the positive international and regional perspective of Iraq's realities based on the clarity of Iraq's orientation, as well as the concern of some with its internal problems, with the strong conviction of all that the stability of the region is intrinsically linked to Iraq's stability, as demonstrated by the experiences and challenges.
His Eminence called to promote optimism and positivity, not only because of the lack of negatives but also to promote the positive reality we live in. H.E. also called for the transformation of the current stability of lasting stability by transferring the interest of some from the field of instability to the field of stability.
H.E. stressed the importance of reducing dependence on oil and leaving the rentier State, stating that remedies need bold steps. H.E. also called to activate tourism, agriculture, industry, investment, and technology sectors, stating that Iraq has competencies in all of them.
H.E. called for the adoption of a clear strategy for combating corruption and turning statements into actions. In this direction, H.E. also stressed the need to focus on detailed and large issues, which in turn will downsize and address minor issues and even administrative and procedural errors often, and to address corruption through automation and transparent and transparent programs.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem described the Government's commitment to the Government's program of goodwill, which needs to be consolidated to transform it into a political attitude. As adherence to the Government's program would move the competition from inflammatory rhetoric to competitiveness based on programs, stating that popular awareness is the key to confronting sectarian and incitement discourse and those who adopt it.
H.E. also called for the activation of Iraqi factories and the enhancement of the productivity of the country and allowed the Government to implement its program and to ensure that the constituents safeguard their right to electoral quota, preserve the peaceful circulation of power, and preserve the status of those who didn’t participate, and to skip simple procedures that were accepted at the time, and was changed at a different time, stating the importance of redressing the Iraqi Constitution, although in need of amendments and development, as it is not fair to blame everything on the constitution. There are some violations made as a result of relying on old laws, or of keeping constitutional articles without interpretation.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem also called for the adoption of a specific mechanism in the selection of the members of the Electoral Commission, stating that the view was currently divided between the current Council's extension or the selection of a new Council. H.E. referred to the proportional relationship between internal stability and the country's foreign policy, stressing that there is a significant development in the perception of others towards Iraq, and also noting the need to strengthen the State to eliminate social scourges, such as narcotic drugs.
