    Sayyid Al-Hakeem receives Plasschaert, affirms Iraq's stability condition for regional stability

    As the conclusion of her tenure in Baghdad approached, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, received Ms. Jeanine Plasschaert, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq on 5/5/2024, and expressed appreciation for the UN's efforts during the previous phase. His Eminence stressed the importance of seizing the current state of stability in the country to bolster both Iraq's and its regional partners' interests.
    H.E. emphasized a shift in the world's approach to Iraq's affairs, highlighting previous interpretations that had destabilized the region, while the current understanding emphasizes the interconnectedness of regional security with Iraq's stability. H.E. urged a retrospective examination of key historical moments.
    Furthermore, H.E. reiterated Iraq's commitment to introducing developmental initiatives benefiting the entire region, aiming to foster collaboration and transform conflicts into opportunities for cooperation. H.E. underlined that the path of development serves as compelling evidence of Iraq's forward-looking developmental agenda for itself and the broader region.
