Sayyid Al-Hakeem: World Must Curb Israeli Occupation, Escalation Won't Stay Regional
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with His Excellency, the Italian Ambassador Maurizio Greganti, on the occasion of the conclusion of his mission in Iraq as the head of his country's delegation. His Eminence wished him success in his future endeavors. During their discussion, they reviewed the political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Rome.
H.E. illustrated the nature of the current stability and the importance of transforming it into lasting stability. H.E. expressed our support for Mr. Al-Sudani's government and its practical steps in the areas of construction, development, reconstruction, service provision, and the activation of productive sectors such as agriculture and industry.
H.E. stressed the importance of learning from Italy's experiences in industry and agriculture. H.E. called for enhanced bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of expertise in various fields.
Regarding the Gaza crisis, H.E. stated that the international community must take a stand on the ongoing situation in Gaza to stop the killing of innocent people that has been ongoing for more than ten months and to halt the escalation in the region, which will not remain confined to its geographical area. H.E. called for a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, the delivery of aid, the return of displaced people, the reconstruction of the city, and the curbing of the Israeli occupation government, which continues to pursue a policy of killing, terrorism, and intimidation.
