Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Jordanian Ambassador, Calls International Community to Pressure Towards Gaza, Lebanon War Ending
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with His Excellency Ambassador Maher Al-Tarawneh, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Republic of Iraq, and discussed the ongoing political and security developments in the region, as well as ways to prevent further escalation and avoid dragging it into a full-scale war.
His Eminence underscored the importance of strengthening relations between Iraq and Jordan in a manner that serves the interests of both brotherly nations.
H.E. stressed the urgent need to end the war in Gaza and Lebanon, and expressed our deep concern over the international community’s silence in the face of the systematic killing of innocent and defenseless civilians from both the Palestinian and Lebanese populations. H.E. pointed out that the events in Gaza and Lebanon constitute war crimes and called upon the international community to uphold the remaining values, principles, and international norms that guide nations in times of conflict.
H.E. further emphasized the importance of supporting the humanitarian, media, and political efforts for Gaza, and urged countries in the region to exert pressure in these directions in solidarity with Gaza and Lebanon. Moreover, H.E. called on the international community and the permanent members of the UN Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in halting the war, assisting the displaced, and rebuilding the devastated cities.
