Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraq Experiences Unprecedented Progress, Garnering Widespread Admiration
At the guesthouse of Sheikh Karim Agha Goran in Dohuk Province, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with a group of sheikhs, dignitaries, and local residents. His Eminence highlighted the Arab-Kurdish relationship as one forged through shared sacrifices, blood, and tears, a continuation of a deep historical bond marked by pivotal moments. H.E. recalled significant historical events, particularly Imam Al-Hakeem's (may Allah sanctify his soul) fatwa, which forbade fighting among Muslim Kurds—a stance for which he faced numerous challenges and pressures. Al-Hakeem remarked that lives are shaped by principled stands, emphasizing the importance of preserving the legacy of ancestors with integrity and passing it on to future generations.
H.E. noted that Iraq’s current reality is a far cry from its recent past, with unprecedented progress and stability in the political, social, economic, and security arenas. H.E. commended the recent Kurdistan elections as a testament to the high awareness among the people of Kurdistan, praising the high voter turnout as a reflection of their commitment.
