Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Our Visit to the Kurdistan Region is Driven by Social Connectivity
In a press conference held in the Aqrah district of Dohuk province, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, stated, "It is an honor for us during this visit to meet with political and community leaders in Kurdistan. Like our previous visits to Kurdistan and other Iraqi provinces, we have engaged with the community and met with many religious and tribal figures." H.E. added that the visit also included meetings with various honorable tribes and religious scholars in this beloved province. H.E. emphasized, "We have a deep and long-standing relationship with the Kurdistan Region and its Kurdish people, dating back to our cooperation and joint work, including the bloodshed during the 1920 revolution in southern Iraq, with the presence of Kurdish tribal leaders, and extending to the famous fatwa by our grandfather, Imam Sayyid Muhsin Al-Hakeem (may his soul rest in peace) in the 1960s, prohibiting the fighting of Kurds, and continuing through the martyrs of Al-Mahraab and Azeez Al-Iraq (may Allah sanctify their souls). This history is filled with struggle and collaborative action." H.E. concluded by saying, "We are keen to maintain our relationship with our Kurdish brothers and to continue engaging with political, community, and religious activities. This visit is meant to achieve these social goals alongside political engagement and communication."
