Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraq Underwent Changes Over the Past Two Decades, Now Reaps Its Sacrifices Rewards
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, welcomed Dr. Mohammad Al-Hassan, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Iraq, to Baghdad, wishing him and the UN mission success in their endeavors. His Eminence emphasized the importance of international organizations in supporting Iraq's experience and helping it move forward. H.E. pointed out that Iraq has undergone significant changes over the past two decades, and is now accumulating positive outcomes and reaping the fruits of the sacrifices made by its people from all communities.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem stated that political projects are now taking a national direction, with differences shifting from being ethnic or sectarian to political within each community. H.E. added, "Iraq is experiencing an unprecedented level of stability in the political, security, and social spheres. It is essential for all efforts to converge in order to transform this stability into lasting peace." H.E. further emphasized that the region's stability depends on Iraq's stability, and stressed the importance of Iraq reclaiming its regional and international role in bringing together different factions in the region.
H.E. reiterated his commitment to the recent statement issued by the highest religious authority, noting that this statement provides a roadmap for resolving Iraq's internal and regional challenges. H.E. highlighted that the political blocs' endorsement of the statement, across all components, affirms the religious authority's support for all groups.
Regarding regional developments, Sayyid Al-Hakeem stressed the need to work towards preventing further escalation, beginning with halting the war on Gaza and Lebanon, providing assistance to displaced persons, and rebuilding the affected cities.
