During the meeting, they discussed the humanitarian and social landscape in Iraq and the region and the role of international organizations in supporting Iraq during the post-UN mission phase.
His Eminence stressed the significance of international organizations' efforts and the need for their activities to align with the Iraqi government's current priorities. H.E. also suggested establishing Iraq as a regional hub for these organizations, which would facilitate their work, especially given the country’s improved security conditions.
H.E. pointed out that the priority now is to enhance services, as Iraq has overcome many security, social, and political challenges. H.E. also emphasized the importance of supporting Iraq in capacity-building and institutional development.
Furthermore, H.E. encouraged international organizations to assist local governments, highlighting that such efforts practically embody Iraq's decentralized governance system.
