Sayyid Al-Hakeem Affirms Iraqi Diversity Strength, Unity
From the National Evangelical Baptist Church in the Karada district, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, renewed his Christmas blessings and emphasized that church presence today is a message of solidarity and love for our Christian brothers and sisters. His Eminence stated that the various sects enrich our intellectual and social reality and that this diversity is a source of pride and strength for Iraqi society, bringing it together as one Iraqi nation under the banner of Iraq.
H.E. stressed the importance of respecting the unique traditions, understanding, and culture of every sect and community. No Iraqi should feel ashamed when practicing their rituals, as Iraq, along with shared lives and common interests, unites us all.
H.E. called to reflect on the life of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him and upon our Prophet and his family). H.E. acknowledged that Iraq has endured significant security, social, and political challenges, which are now becoming part of the past as the country enters a phase of gradual recovery. It is essential to preserve the positives, build upon them, and uphold diversity and national unity.
H.E. affirmed that the current positive environment results from the profound and significant sacrifices made by all components of society. H.E. also reflected on the plight of the people in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, praying for their safety and peace. Furthermore, H.E. emphasized the importance of learning from Iraq’s experiences in overcoming challenges to achieve stability.
