Sayyid Al-Hakeem: State’s Strength Prevents Iraqi Society’s Negative Phenomena, Reduces Tribal Conflicts

During a gathering in Baghdad with tribal leaders and notable figures, His Eminence, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a group of esteemed sheikhs and dignitaries, congratulating them on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday and the birth of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him). After listening to their valuable insights, H.E. emphasized the importance of consultations with the nation's leaders and elders.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem referred to the message of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) and the hardships he endured, noting that the Prophet once said, "No prophet has been harmed as much as I have." H.E. also addressed the suffering of the oppressed Palestinian people under Israel’s daily aggression, questioning the world’s silence, and asked, "Where is the international community? Where are the global organizations and international resolutions?"
H.E. further stressed that israel’s violence has destroyed the narrative of victimhood that the israeli entity has often used to market itself, reaffirming solidarity with both the Palestinian and Lebanese people.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem also highlighted that Iraq enjoys security, political, and social stability, and there is general satisfaction with the government and political forces. H.E. emphasized that this is a significant achievement for all Iraqis and called for protecting this progress and avoiding a return to previous difficulties, urging accountability and reliance on the judiciary to address mistakes.
H.E. warned against external agendas that attempt to exaggerate issues and undermine recent successes, calling for vigilance against efforts to spread negativity and attack political, executive, social, religious, and tribal leaderships. H.E. noted that these entities are foundational pillars of the country, and such actions are part of a dangerous, systematic agenda.
H.E. emphasized preserving national unity and maintaining internal harmony, calling for mutual understanding and avoiding divisive rhetoric. H.E. urged Sunni political forces to resolve the issue of the Speaker of Parliament position through consensus on an alternative candidate.
H.E. also rejected mutual targeting over people’s opinions and views on specific matters, advocating for dialogue and mutual understanding. H.E. affirmed the individual's right to practice personal matters according to their beliefs and sect, as guaranteed by the Iraqi constitution. H.E. explained that amending the personal status law does not annul the previous law, allowing freedom of choice without imposing specific laws on citizens unwilling to accept them.
On the issue of drugs, H.E. noted that drug trafficking is a profitable business in some regional and international areas, and called for intensified efforts to prevent its spread. H.E. reiterated the need to differentiate between dealers and users, as the former are criminals while the latter are victims.
H.E. highlighted the importance of adhering to the constitutional article that Iraq cannot be used as a base or passage for threats against neighboring countries and rejected violations of Iraqi sovereignty under the pretext of combating groups that threaten those nations.
H.E. affirmed that the strength of the state can prevent negative phenomena in Iraqi society and reduce tribal conflicts. H.E. also encouraged participation in the upcoming census, as it would provide a database for effective state planning, urging reassurance to citizens that the census is essential for offering well-planned services.
H.E. stressed the need for stability in local governments and urged against destabilizing efforts aimed at removing provincial governors. H.E. emphasized that the stability of the provinces is crucial to delivering services and highlighted the importance of preserving tribal traditions without external interference.
