Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Pakistani Muslim Unity Party Delegation, Stresses Strengthening Baghdad–Islamabad Relations
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received a delegation from Pakistan’s Muslim Unity Party, led by Sheikh Raja Nasir Abbas Jaafri, the party’s Secretary-General and a member of the Pakistani Senate. The meeting included an exchange of views on bilateral relations between Iraq and Pakistan and ways to enhance them.
His Eminence underscored Pakistan’s importance as a pivotal nation with vast potential, in addition to the religious and cultural bonds it shares with Iraq, most notably their common belonging to Islam, which provide a solid foundation for closer cooperation across various fields.
On regional developments, H.E. reiterated the call for a unified and forceful Islamic stance to stop the massacres being committed against the Palestinian people, particularly in the devastated Gaza Strip. H.E. held the international community accountable for the collapse of humanitarian values in light of its shameful silence over the mass killing and starvation of civilians.
The meeting concluded with H.E. reaffirming Iraq’s openness to all nations and its commitment to building strong bilateral relations based on mutual interests and respect for sovereignty, in a manner that serves regional stability and the prosperity of its peoples.
