Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Juhaish Tribal Sheiks, Says Upcoming Elections Are Chance to Consolidate Stability and Build on Achievements
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received a group of sheikhs and dignitaries from the Juhaish tribe, where H.E. renewed condolences on the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the anniversary of the passing of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him and his family), reflecting on the profound spiritual values these significant occasions hold in the hearts of Iraqis.
H.E. stressed that the upcoming elections mark a crucial turning point amid growing regional tensions, noting that Iraq has engaged with regional developments in a balanced manner without becoming entangled in their complexities, offering political, media, social, and humanitarian support.
H.E. highlighted that Iraq has successfully navigated major political, security, and social challenges, transitioning from political polarization to a period of relative stability, while achieving an acceptable level of public services. This, H.E. said, provides a positive foundation for building the next stage.
On services, H.E. called for optimal water resource management to address the national water shortage crisis, urging the adoption of sustainable and long-term solutions. H.E. also praised Iraq’s achievement of self-sufficiency in wheat production, describing it as a key step toward food security.
H.E. further emphasized the importance of embracing moderation and centrism, calling for the election of competent and ethical candidates within credible electoral lists, and warning against the exploitation of parliamentary positions for corruption or extortion.
In conclusion, H.E. called for a review of campaign spending, urging comparisons between the funds used in election campaigns and the official salaries and benefits of Members of Parliament, stressing the need to rationalize spending and enhance transparency in the electoral process.
