Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Al-Jubour Tribe Leaders: Upcoming Elections Are Decisive Opportunity to Sustain Iraq’s Stability

On Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2025, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met at the residence of the late Sheikh Dr. Qahtan Abdul Abbas Al-Judhri Al-Jubouri with a group of sheikhs and dignitaries from Al-Jubour tribe and the Rugia and Fadhil areas north of Baghdad.
In his speech, His Eminence highlighted that Al-Jubour is a widespread tribe across Iraq and the Arab world, recalling the historical bond H.E. shares with this noble tribe, a connection that has persisted through generations and will be passed on to future descendants.
H.E. noted that Iraq suffered under dictatorship and the suppression of freedoms, while the post-2003 era witnessed the emergence of citizens’ freedoms and their fundamental role in shaping the country’s future and electing those best suited to manage its affairs.
His Eminence recalled the difficulties Iraq faced after 2003, including the targeting of former regime elements, a series of bombings starting with the assassination of the UN representative, followed by attacks on the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammed Saeed Al-Hakeem (may his secret be sanctified), and then Shaheed Al-Mihrab (may his secret be sanctified), followed by many bombings.
H.E. emphasized that Iraq overcame these serious challenges thanks to Allah Almighty, the guidance of the Supreme Religious Authority, the wisdom of political leaders, and the steadfastness of Iraq’s tribal communities, most notably confronting sectarian strife and political conflicts.
His Eminence affirmed that the upcoming elections are decisive, taking place in a pivotal historical phase during which the region is experiencing major events and Iraq remains in a state of fragile stability that can be transformed into lasting stability.
H.E. compared the forthcoming elections with those of 2005, noting that while the 2005 elections laid the foundations of democracy, the upcoming elections will establish sustainable stability. H.E. stressed the need to protect these achievements and positive gains, emphasizing that democracy, freedom of expression, overcoming challenges, current stability, and improvements in the economic reality are all accomplishments that must be preserved.
H.E. urged the audience to seize the opportunity of the upcoming elections and not waste it (#Dont_Waste_It).
H.E. acknowledged that the current reality is not perfect and that much work remains, but it is far better than before, highlighting the importance of being conscious when granting one’s vote, choosing the right candidates from a proper list, and noting that the real project begins on 11/11 and does not end there.
H.E. also warned against “political contractors” whose service ends with their personal interests and against “high-spending individuals” whose expenditures exceed legal entitlements for MPs, explaining that such practices often conceal other agendas aimed at reaching parliament.
