Sayyid Al-Hakeem from Karbala: Upcoming Elections Are Pivotal, Empowering Moderation Strengthens Iraq’s Stability

From the holy city of Karbala, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with the Alliance’s candidates in the governorate. After listening to their remarks, His Eminence highlighted the significance of the upcoming elections in light of their timing and the regional developments witnessed in recent months. H.E. stated that Iraq has engaged with regional issues and interacted with them responsibly without becoming entangled in them. H.E. further affirmed that empowering the path of moderation and centrism will contribute to strengthening Iraq’s stability and promoting a governance approach based on programs and national projects.
H.E. called for intensifying efforts in the remaining days before the elections, urging candidates to maintain confidence, explaining that victory lies not only in winning but also in contributing to the collective success. H.E. emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of statehood and reinforcing its institutions while giving due attention to youth and women. H.E. also stressed the need to care for public affairs and not confine service to a single area, noting that the national project begins on November 11 and does not end there.
H.E. revealed that the Alliance has committed its candidates—if elected—to maintaining communication with citizens without changing their phone numbers or places of residence. H.E. underscored the importance of maintaining positive relations among the list’s candidates, encouraging realistic promises while avoiding impractical or unachievable commitments. H.E. also urged candidates to familiarize themselves with the powers of Members of Parliament related to oversight and legislation, calling for focused and creative efforts, and making effective use of platforms to present ideas and programs.
H.E. stressed that all efforts must be made sincerely for the sake of Allah, affirming that political stability remains the key to resolving crises. H.E. also emphasized the necessity of economic and financial reform, supporting the private sector, and ensuring essential services such as water, electricity, healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Concluding, H.E. called for upholding moral, social, and political values while strengthening Iraq’s regional and international relations.
