Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives NSPA’s Parliamentary Bloc, Affirms Activating Monitoring, Legislative Roles, Support Local Governments
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met with the Parliamentary Bloc of the National State Powers’ Alliance at His office in Baghdad on Monday morning, January 19, 2026. His Eminence commended the bloc’s efforts during Parliamentary sessions and praised its active and engaged presence, calling for continued coordination with other political powers and parliamentary blocs.
H.E. stressed the need to activate the Parliament in both its legislative and oversight roles, underscoring the importance of cooperation and integration among the legislative, executive, and judicial authorities. H.E. noted that the current phase requires greater cohesion and solidarity to achieve the public interest.
H.E. also emphasized the importance of supporting local governments, strengthening cooperation between members of parliament and representatives of provincial councils, and working to back these councils while advocating for their constitutional and legal rights and authorities.
H.E. further highlighted the need to prioritize the broader public interest, represent all citizens across different cities, and avoid limiting parliamentary attention to narrow constituencies or personal districts. H.E. stressed the necessity of enacting legislation that directly addresses citizens’ concerns, advances economic reforms, and confronts existing challenges.
