His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met with a number of respected tribal sheiks and dignitaries from Al-Muthanna Governorate during a gathering hosted by Sheikh Abbas Al-Sukhail.
During the meeting, His Eminence emphasized that the shared history between Iraq’s noble tribes and the Iraqi people during pivotal moments in the nation’s history represents a deeply rooted national asset. Regarding government affairs, H.E. expressed hope that the ministerial cabinet would be completed as soon as possible. H.E. affirmed that Al-Hikma National Movement nominated Mr. Faleh Al-Sari for the position of Minister of Finance based on confidence in his competence and capabilities, as well as in recognition of Al-Muthanna Governorate.
On the economic front, H.E. pointed out that Iraq has been affected by the rapid regional developments, which have led to declining exports and reduced financial revenues. Nevertheless, H.E. expressed full confidence in Iraq’s ability to overcome these challenges and emerge stronger.
Concerning foreign relations, H.E. called for improving the atmosphere with regional and international partners, stressing that the current stage requires an active diplomatic and public-relations effort to restore normal engagement and strengthen Iraq’s external standing. H.E. added that the selection of Mr. Ali Al-Zaidi was driven by the need to address both the economic and diplomatic challenges facing the country.
H.E. concluded by underscoring that political disagreements in Iraq have remained confined to constitutional and legal frameworks, describing this as a significant and positive development in Iraq’s political landscape that reflects growing political maturity and commitment to democratic principles.
