Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Diversity Strength Iraq, Al-Hikma Project Built Upon Dialogue, Moderation, Partnership
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with the organizational leadership of Al-Hikma National Movement in northern and western Iraq.
H.E. affirmed the importance of the diversity that distinguishes Iraq and the necessity of preserving it, explaining that Iraqis carry their national identity wherever they go and represent the Iraqi nation across various forums.
H.E. noted that certain projects have sought to pit Iraqi society against itself — foremost among them sectarian and ethnic projects — commending the role played by Iraqi tribes across all their components in suppressing strife and confronting foreign agendas.
H.E. explained that Al-Hikma National Movement represents a project of dialogue, moderation, centrism, partnership with others, and acceptance of the other, recalling Imam Al-Hakeem's fatwa (may Allah sanctify his soul) prohibiting the fighting of the Kurdish people, his positions in support of Iraqis across all governorates, as well as his fatwa in support of the Palestinian people and his call on believers to pay zakat in support of their cause.
H.E. clarified that Al-Hikma National Movement's priorities in the western and northern governorates differ from those in the central and southern governorates, with priorities there centered on social dimensions, without seeking to compete with the influential forces in those arenas — except in certain areas that include representation of the largest component, where social and political priorities complement one another.
H.E. noted that Al-Hikma National Movement's project, built on moderation and centrism, has become a respected and valued project among the public, pointing out that Iraq is going through a difficult financial period, yet possesses genuine opportunities to overcome the crisis and address its challenges.
H.E. called for familiarity with Al-Hikma National Movement's project, its features, symbols, and leaders, affirming that knowing the project requires promoting it and conveying it to the people. H.E. also stressed the necessity of working with sincerity for Allah Almighty and in service of His servants, reviewing performance, evaluating the current period, and overcoming mistakes through qualitative and impactful work, noting the importance of Husseini commemorations as an Islamic and human cause that carries messages of reform and noble values.
