Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim: A Debate Without Evidence is a Social Disease that Turns its Carrier into a Virus Decimating the Society

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, deplored the prevalence of the phenomenon of debate without evidence among people, considering it a social disease that turns its carrier into a serious social virus. In addition, he indicated that there are debaters whose only concern is to be distinguished from the society and to behave arrogantly and unknowingly toward their people, urging all to be objective, to grant victory to factuality, and to admit mistakes because admitting mistakes is a virtue.

This came during the fifth night of Muharram in Husseini Mourning that took place in his office on Sunday October 19th, 2015.

His Eminence referred to the occasion’s owner, Muslim bin Aqeel (may Allah be pleased with him), indicating that he and his family were from the people of insights and Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) was in witness whereof. He also recalled that God will grant victory to the ones who seek His help.
