Head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim, and the head of the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, discussed relations between Iraq and Iran and developments in the security and political situation in Iraq and the region, plus the victories achieved by the Iraqi security forces, the popular mobilization and tribal forces on Daesh groups in Mosul.

His eminence during meeting with Ayatollah Larijani, at his eminence’s office in Baghdad Monday, 31.10.2016, stressed the need for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, pointing out the importance of the exertion all efforts to combat terrorism and eliminate the cliques of Daesh as it represents a real threat to the world and the region, and that Iraq and its people are the head of spear of the confrontation, calling for supporting Iraq with accordance to Iraq’s needs and what Iraq is deciding , because Iraq is more aware of on ground situations, considering this stage the most difficult stages of the confrontation with Daesh, and Iraq which is capable of handling it. His eminence valued the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its early broad response to assist Iraq against Daesh that represented a real threat to the Iraqi state.

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim stated: There is no doubt that the visit of a great and prestigious figure of senior officials in the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Iraq, holding meetings, establish communications and making agreements that took place between the two countries and between the two judicial powers represent an important portal in deepening, furthering and strengthen the bonds of the relationship between the two countries, stressing his great appreciation to the constant supporting and assisting stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq since the fall of the dictatorial regime and to the present day, at which the leadership of the Islamic republic of Iran and its government and people were supporters to the Iraqi people in the course of political, security, cultural, social and religious aspects.

Head of the Iraqi National Alliance indicated that Iraq is on the verge of winning in the battle against terrorism in Nineveh and the elimination of the so-called Daesh’s caliphate, and by liberating of Nineveh, Iraq will announce the complete liberation of the entire Iraqi soil, explaining that the Iraqi people witnessed increased unity and coherence while fighting the war against Daesh, and strongly insist bearing the burden of the military battle upon themselves, and not allowing any foreign fighters to fight on the soil of Iraq, and reject this involvement although some neighboring countries wanted to strongly embark itself to intervene in the battle to achieve a certain balance in their favor, pointing out that the Iraqis had settled for the unity of their land and their sovereignty and they are capable to liberate their land.

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim pointed out that the Iraqi National Alliance, as the biggest parliamentary bloc, is preparing to submit an important document for national settlement that represents a comprehensive political project in conjunction with the liberalization of the city of Mosul, pointing out that it is an inclusive political project contemporary with the military victory.

For his part, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani, affirmed that the cohesion of the people with the government has the utmost importance to achieve victory, stating that the secret of the victory of Iran is the continuous presence of the people in the arena of events and the presence of vigilant and awared politicians, explaining that the powers of world are trying to exploit terrorism and impose wars on peoples in order to plunder the wealth of the region’s countries and this is also the case in Iraq, because Iraq possesses wealth and population. Ayatollah Amoli Larijani pointed out the plots that are weaved by a number of Western and Arab countries to divide Iraq, stressing Iran\'s opposition to the division of Iraq, and emphasis on the unity and independence of Iraq, and opposing those trying to harm the unity of Iraqi soil and independence. The head of the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, pointed out that Western country are trying to exploit human rights as a double-edged weapon against the countries; therefore the Islamic countries need to organize their human rights with accordance to their religious and logical basis in suitability to the sacred religion of Islam.
