    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, meets the British ambassador to Iraq

    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the British ambassador to Iraq, developments in the security and political status in Iraq and international support to confront the terrorist factions of Daesh.

    This took place during his eminence meeting with the British ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Baker in the Office of the head of the National Iraqi Alliance Thursday 08/12/2016. Meeting discussions covered the general political and security situations, and developments in the war against Daesh, plus the progress of bilateral relations between Iraq and Britain, and means of strengthening the relations, plus discussing the latest events in the entire region and in the world.

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim stressed the Iraq\'s need for a political project that coincides with the liberation of Nineveh from the terrorist factions of Daesh, indicating that the eliminating the presence of Daesh in Iraq requires military measures and a package of political and services procedures, and resettlement of displaced people and provide services to the liberated areas.

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim talked about passing the Popular Mobilization Forces Act, stressing that the law has a humane aspect through keeping fighters\' rights including the martyrs and the wounded fighters, as well as the importance of law to protect the popular mobilization forces legally and in terms of bearing arms exclusively through the government, plus the protection of the popular mobilization units from penetrations.
