    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to discuss bilateral relations and the regional and international developments

    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim accompanied by a delegation of National Iraqi Alliance and during his eminence visit to Tehran, Iran 13/12/2016, met with the Iranian President Mr. Hassan Rouhani, to discuss the current situation in Iraq, and developments in the regional and international situations, and the initiative of the National Iraqi Alliance to further the national unity in Iraq. His eminence expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Iraqi government and people.

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim conferred with Mr. Rouhani the common issues between Iraq and Iran and the situation in the region in general, emphasizing the important role of the Islamic Republic of Iran to support Iraq in its war against terrorism and support for the restoration of stability, his eminence expressed his appreciation to the iranian government and the people for providing great support to the Iraqi people and the government stating: \"a lot of achievements have been made on the level of security in the country, at which 40 percent of the Iraqi soil was under the control of terrorist Daesh . \"

    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance added: \"the National Iraqi Alliance and coinciding with the military achievements forwarded a project for national settlement that will be trusted by all the Iraqi people.\"

    His eminence indicated that the project for settlement received support from big number of regional sides and will not include criminals who have the blood of Iraqis on their hands.

    His eminence presented a review on the progress of reviving the National Iraqi Alliance and its result in furthering cooperation between National Iraqi Alliance components and other Iraqi political entities, stressing that the most important need for Iraqi society today, is the consolidation of political solidarity, the unity of Iraqi soils and ending Takfiri terrorism and to establish stability and economic and social development.
