    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, calls for confronting terrorism through unity and coexistence

    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim on Sunday 25/12/2016 called to confront the threat of terrorism through unity and co-existence among the sons of one people and emphasized that \"the strength of the Iraqi people stems from its unity\" stating that his visit along with a delegation of leaders of the National Iraqi Alliance to churches and masses is an expression of a great desire for co-existence, love, peace, harmony and cooperation in order to build this nation.

    This took place during his eminence participation with Christian community of Iraq that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, peace be upon, praying to Almighty Allah that next Christmas, Iraqi people and especially christians, will celebrate Christmas after their homes are liberated from defiled evil Daesh, and that the displaced families return to their homes, and all will contribute to rebuilding our beloved Iraq, on the basis of love and peace, advocated by all religions.

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim stressed that the most important foundations of building the unified country are the deep ties among the people of all components, pointing out that solutions will be through starting dialogues and coexistence and acceptance of others, assuring that the elimination of Daesh is a matter of time, and that signs of final defeat of Daesh are close, and Deash defeat Mosul is not the final win, afterwards peaceful solutions will be a necessity for saving the country from division and fracture, adding that the National Iraqi Alliance, as the biggest partner in the political proccess, presented a project of national settlement that manifests the shape of the country in the post-Daesh phase, and outlining the future of Iraq, adding that the option after the elimination of Daesh is not a civil war, not revenge and bloodshed, and not to divide Iraq into multiple Iraqi states according to sect, religion and ethnicity.

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim expressed his appreciation to the Church\'s efforts to support the National unity, and the role of christians in building the country and its stability, indicating \"great diversity in communities, nationalities, religions, political, territorial and tribal orientations, represent the Iraqi bouquet of roses, with its various flowers, it is the power to our country, and Iraq is strong by the strength of its people, and its nice to see that those who defend the country, are Iraqi of all sects and components\".

    Head of the National Iraqi Alliance pointed out that the problem in Iraq is a security issue if we look at it from one side, and the terrorists are using various weapons to kill Iraqis, and Iraqis had confronted and defended, and the advancement became in the control of our military forces, but the problem from another side has various dimensions and roots, and its not limited to the security solution, we need to offer each other a political project that gather us and heal us.

    His eminence concluded his speech by calling for developments and reconstruction to the devastated areas, and to be highly motivated to provide services to our people in all locations, especially the capital Baghdad of Peace, which urged to take a great deal of attention being the capital of Iraq.
