Meeting with the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations ... Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim stresses the need to support Iraq and Kubis calls on everyone to engage in the national settlement
Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, stressed on the necessity that the United Nations take a role in encouraging the international community to be motivated towards Iraq and support Iraq in his war against Daesh and in the reliefe the displaced families.
\r\nThis took place in a meeting with the UN representative in Iraq, Mr. Jan Kubis at his eminence’s office in Baghdad Tuesday, 28/3/2017.
\r\nBoth sides discussed the national settlement and its outcomes, as well as the battle of Mosul and international support for the displaced families.
\r\nHis eminence stressed that the United Nations should play a major role in encouraging the international community to take supportive and assistive positions to Iraq in its war against Daesh, and it is important that this international institution contribute in supporting and assisting the displaced people of Mosul. His eminence welcomed the upcoming visit of Secretary-General of the United Nations to Iraq counting the visit an important and encouraging matter to Iraq.
\r\nHis eminence discussed with Kubis the international and regional relations with Iraq, which recently witnessed a development through the visits conducted by the Prime Minister.
\r\nMr. Kubis amphasized on the importance of following up on the National Settlement project and the importance of the engagement of all.
