    Leadership Authority of the National Iraqi Alliance holds its regular meeting to discuss priorities of post-liberation

    The leadership Authority of the National Iraqi Alliance held its regular meeting presided by the Head of the Alliance Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim at his office in Baghdad Saturday, July 15, 2017.

    \r\n

    Discussions covered the most important topics related to priorities of post-liberation phase and date of announcing the national settlement plus the referendum to be held in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and outcomes of the Baghdad conferences.

    \r\n

    Conferees praised victories achieved by Iraqi security forces including the army, the federal police, anti- terrorism units, the popular mobilization forces and tribal mobilization and the Peshmerga during the battles to liberate Mosul, and stressed persistence of battle momentum to liberate the remaining strategic areas which still bow under the control of Daesh groups.

    \r\n

    Leadership Authority also discussed the road map, which the Alliance sees after the liberation of Mosul considering its political, economic, reconstruction and security aspects.

    \r\n

    Leadership Authority stressed on the unity of Iraq, and affirmed decision of the General Authority of the National Iraqi Alliance to reject the referendum in the Kurdistan region. And expressed support to any conferences taking place under the roof of the state, the government, the law and the on the soil of the Iraqi capital Baghdad only if outputs call for unity and cohesion and national discourse.

    In conclusion the conferees renewed the call to the government to work on recommendations of the National Iraqi Alliance regarding pensions of provincial councils members.
