Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim meets President of Iraq to discusses the referendum and the initiative of dialogue
Head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, met his Excellency President Mr. Fuad Masum in Baghdad Sunday 17/9/2017.
\r\nHis eminence with Masum discussed the developments of the referendum that is planned to be held at the end of September 2017 in Kurdistan region, discussion also covered exerted efforts to invest in time in order to rectify the consequences of this serious issue on the unity of Iraq and the whole region. His eminence expressed support for all initiatives that seek to defuse the crisis.
\r\nSayyid Ammar al-Hakim emphasized on the unity of Iraq as a real safety for everyone given the current events in the region, pointed out that the deep and comprehensive dialogue based on the Constitution can solve the unsettled issues. His eminence pointed out to the historical roles played by the Kurds in Iraq after 2003 and earlier in the struggle against dictatorship, counted aspirations an understandable matter with the condition of meeting the constitutional, legal requirements and the other party’s opinion because the issue is impacting everyone.
\r\nRegarding anti-terrorism, his eminence indicated that security threat still in motion in spite of defeating terrorism on military levels, reminded that the unity of Iraqis contributed to the military victory, the remaining victories require unity of Iraq similar or even more than the unity showed when achieving military victory a, noted that everyone have their own input, but dialogue can solve the differences.
