Sayyid Al-Hakeem calls to establish the World Council for Minorities and Components to be their rights’ international vessel, compel countries to abide by it

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, called to establish the World Council for Minorities and Components for it to be an international vessel to draft policies, follow up on the countries and what’s their level of compliance to the strengthening of the rights of political, civil, economic, social, and cultural minorities on 5/12/2022, illustrating that Al-Hakeem International Foundation will maintain the efforts.
His Eminence said that minorities in Iraq were subjected to the greatest crime in the history of humanity committed by ISIS terrorist gangs. They raped and abducted Yazidi, Shia Turkmen, and Shabak women and sold them in the slavers market, they even raped, killed, and burned Turkmen and Shabak women. H.E. reiterated his call to replace minorities with components, considering them as a source of empowerment and enrichment to the Iraqi society. H.E. has also called to manage diversity and respect privacy within the framework of the Iraqi Inclusive Identity. Stressing its empowerment to take its natural role in Iraqi society, reiterating respect for and support for the components in expressing their own identities as a national standard, He pointed out the essence of patriotism is acceptance and respect for all and giving them opportunities to express themselves.

The following is the speech’s text:

    Ladies and gentlemen, attendees,

    Theistic blessings,

International conventions, treaties, and declarations have consistently emphasized the rights of minorities, in particular the protection of the physical and moral existence of minorities, non-discrimination against them, the promotion of their identity, and the adoption of legislative measures appropriate to minorities through consultation, participation, and respect for their religious identity, language, and rights...

    Ladies and gentlemen,

Minorities in Iraq have been subjected to the greatest crime in the history of Mankind committed by ISIS terrorist gangs by raping and abducting Yazidi, Shia Turkmen, and Shabak women, selling them in the Slavers market, and even raping, killing, and burning Turkmen and Shabak women.
In addition to the confiscation of minorities' funds and property and their forced displacement from their areas, as well as violations of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights based on discrimination, racism, and exclusion due to ethnic, religious, national or racial characteristics of minority victims in crimes amounting to genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

    Ladies and gentlemen,

We have emphasized more than once that replacing the term (minorities) with (components) is needed. This is due to them being a source of strength and enrichment for Iraqi society, and have called to advocate diversity management and privacy respect within the framework of the Iraqi inclusive national identity, as well as empowering components to take their natural role in Iraqi society. Respecting and supporting them in expressing their own identities is considered a national standard. The essence of patriotism is to accept and respect everyone and to grant them the space to express themselves.

    Ladies and gentlemen,

Islam is the religion of mercy and peace. It came to guide and liberate humanity from all intellectual, emotional, and behavioral deviation. It seeks to prepare the minds, hearts, and wills for receiving and self-responding to divine concepts and values, regardless of their intellectual, national, or sectarian affiliation, Islam has set rules and foundations to live in peace and security in a community that is filled with mercy, harmony, and peace. So, it translated the visions and ideas into emotions, practices, and relations with no coercion or compulsion. It seeks to change human society so that good concepts and values are the ones to govern perverse ideas and attitudes, “People, we have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes that you might know one another” -49th verse of Al-Hujurat Chapter of the Holy Quran. The Holy Quran refers to the phrase “We made you peoples and tribes so that you may know each other” meaning to coexist, reconcile, and cooperate, not to fight, wage wars, and kill each other. “If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people” -93rd verse of Al-Nahl Chapter of the Holy Quran-. Allah’s wisdom wished to make us different people, religions, and colors and make us different in languages and dialects. “And His signs are the creation of heavens and earth and the diversity of your tongues and colors. Surely, there are signs in this for all the worlds”. 30th verse of Al-Room Chapter of the Holy Quran.

The Honorable Prophet (Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There’s no superiority for an Arab over a Non-Arab, nor to blacks over red, nor red over black, except by piety”. Therefore, the criterion of preference is for a righteous one who works well for the good of his brothers and does not infringe on the other. Islam has reiterated the rights of political, civil, economic, social, and cultural minorities.

    Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, we all face a historic and humanitarian responsibility to protect and promote minorities' rights through policies, practices, legislation, and dialogue management. We also seize the opportunity to remind the international community to stand up for the plight of minorities in Iraq and cooperate with the Iraqi Government in following up on the abductions, reconstruction of minority areas, and restoration of their rights, while intensifying efforts to bring ISIS gang criminals to justice and voluntarily return displaced minorities to their areas. We also call on the international community to establish the World Council for Minorities and Components for it to be an international vessel for policy making and to monitor the extent of States' commitment to the promotion of the rights of political, civil, economic, social, and cultural minorities. Al-Hakeem International Foundation is maintaining its efforts at this level.
