Sayyid Al-Hakeem from Al-Battat Guesthouse: Emphasizes Religious Authority, Tribes’ Role to Preserve Iraq, Addresses North Basra’s Issues

During His Eminence’s visit to Al-Battat guesthouse, the residence of the late Sayyid Falih Al-Battat, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met with a large gathering of distinguished sayyids, tribal sheikhs, and dignitaries from North Basra. H.E. extended his congratulations on the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Mahdi (May Allah hasten his reappearance) and the anniversary of the Shaaban Uprising, which served as a resounding cry against the former regime and contributed to its eventual downfall.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem emphasized that the dual role of religious authority and tribal leadership has been pivotal in safeguarding Iraq and guiding its course. H.E. highlighted their active presence in key historical moments, from the 1920 Revolution to the fight against ISIS, where the religious authority’s fatwa transformed defeat into victory.
H.E. also underscored the significance of Husseini rituals in preserving Iraq’s identity, commending the generosity of Basra’s people during the Gulf Cup 25, considering it an extension of the spirit of Husseini giving.
Touching on global and regional developments, Sayyid Al-Hakeem stressed the importance of maintaining national stability and prioritizing North Basra’s cities. H.E. called for resolving the province’s agricultural land issues, asserting that the Ministry of Oil should not monopolize these lands. H.E. also emphasized the need to activate the social benefits of oil licensing contracts to enhance the environment and mitigate pollution.
In conclusion, Sayyid Al-Hakeem highlighted the necessity of supporting Iraqi youth by providing job opportunities. H.E. stressed the importance of addressing challenges with a balanced approach—neither downplaying nor exaggerating them—while ensuring transparency with the public to facilitate effective solutions. H.E. reaffirmed the need to safeguard national achievements and prevent those who seek to incite crises from succeeding.
