Within the framework of staying abreast with the cultural and scientific activities, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), visited the Book Exhibit which is held on the grounds of the Baghdad International Fair on Saturday, December 1, 2012 and toured the exhibit’s halls. His Eminence entered the wings of publishers of the holy shrines in Iraq, the wing of the foundation of the Martyr of the Niche and some Lebanese and Egyptian publishing houses. His Eminence stressed the importance of knowledge and of coping with the recent publications as well as embodying the meaning of recitation which was the first word revealed to the Holiest Prophet (Õ): “Iqra’” (read!).
It must be mentioned that Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim has always persevered in keeping abreast with all scientific and cultural activities, including book exhibits held in Baghdad, whether in Al-Mutanabbi Street, Baghdad University or those held on the grounds of the Baghdad International Fair.
