    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Appraises the Historical and Pivotal Relation between the Superior Council and the Kurds

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Superior Council of Iraq, received in his office in Baghdad on Sunday, May 5, 2013, Mr. Kosrat Rasul, the Vice President of Kurdistan and member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. During the meeting, both sides evaluated the political scene and highlighted the necessity of communication between the political blocs so as to preserve the basics and principles of the political process. His Eminence appraised the historical relation that linked and still links Kurds to the Islamic Superior Council of Iraq and wished the Kurdish President Massoud Barzani good health and safe return to the homeland.
    For his part, the Vice President of Kurdistan pointed out to the relation between Kurds and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Superior Council, describing it as historical and pivotal and congratulating the Martyr of the Niche movement for their victory in the last provincial council elections. In fact, the meeting was attended by prominent Kurdish leaders including Mr. Fuad Maassoum, head of the Kurdistan Alliance Bloc in the Iraqi Parliament.
