    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Meets Barzani Condoling with the Latter in the Loss of his Sister and Stresses the Necessity of Facing the Challenges with more National Unity

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Superior Council, met the president of the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Massoud Barzani in the latter’ Salahaddin summer house Tuesday, May 14, 2013, expressing his deepest condolences to the latter for the death of his sister, asking the Almighty God to be merciful to her sole and to give her family patience.
    During his meeting with Barzani, his Eminence stressed the necessity of facing the challenges with more national unity, and the importance of a serious, constructive dialogue as a solution to the current political crisis. He has also appraised the historical relations that have always connected, and are still connecting, the Superior Council to the Kurds, underlying the need to make these relations stronger and more developed.
    For his part, the president of the Kurdistan Region has welcomed the visit of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, saying his Eminence is one of the region’s people, not a guest. He has also maintained the Kurds are with any efforts aiming at getting Iraq out of its current crisis.
