Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Superior Council of Iraq, met Mr. Kosrat Rasul, the Vice President of the Iraqi Region of Kurdistan and the member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Thursday, May 16, 2013, in Sulaymaniyah, where he stressed the necessity of calming the waters and resolving disputes through dialogue.
For his part, Mr. Kosrat Rasul and the members of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan congratulated his Eminence for the last elections' results, describing them as valuable results for the Citizen Alliance.
On one hand, the delegation of the Islamic Superior Council of Iraq led by his Eminence has discussed with the members of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan the issues over which the central government and the local government disagree. On the other, they have stressed the importance of dialogue as the ultimate solution. The regional situation was also examined, with his Eminence underlying the importance of courageously analyzing the regional situation and protecting Iraq against such changes with more national unity.
