    During the Visit of the US Deputy Secretary of State, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Reiterates the Importance of Building Good Regional and International Relations

    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim reiterated the importance of building good regional and international relations, stating that the constant meetings and mutual visits between Iraqi and US officials would reinforce the cooperation in the different domains between both countries, in such way that guarantees the common interests of both peoples. 
    This came during a meeting between Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, and the US deputy Secretary of State, William Burns, held in his Eminence's office in Baghdad Saturday, 29/6/2013. 
    During the meeting, they have discussed the latest developments in the country and the region. The US official has expressed his admiration for the role Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim has been playing in bringing the political leaders closer, maintaining stability in the country, praising the positions and ideas of the Supreme Council in promoting partnership and coming up with a united vision to resolve the problems, building the institutions and deepening the democracy pillars in Iraq. He also said he was pleased to know that Iraq is now being liberated from the chapter 7 and the international sanctions.  
    For his part, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim reiterated the importance of forming a majority of all denominations with the participation of all the component of the Iraqi people in order to overcome the crises and obstacles that stand in the way of the development of Iraq in multiple domains.
