Heading the Extended Meeting of the Shura Council, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim: Elections are a Means to Serve the Country and Citizens

The Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, stressed that elections, for the movement of the Martyr of the Niche (May Allah sanctify his soul), are a means to serve the country and citizens not an end. His Eminence reiterated the slogan “We do not deserve to represent a people what we do not serve”, underlining the need to establish a clear vision and project to build the state and the importance of spreading hope and optimism among citizens.
This came when his Eminence was heading the extended meeting held by the Martyr of the Niche movement in his office in Baghdad, on Monday 28/10/2013.
His Eminence highlighted the security deterioration that Baghdad and other Iraqi provinces are going through, indicating that the security situation shows that terrorism is taking the initiative. He thus called for changing and updating security plans, stressing that the battle of Iraqis with terrorism is a battle of existence which they will win. He finally called to prepare for the sacred month of Muharram and to benefit from its fiducial atmosphere.
