    In a Meeting with the CEO of Communications and Media Commission, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Confirms His Support of the Media Sector to Promote its Independence


    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, confirmed his support of the media and communications sector to promote its impartiality and independency, calling on the board of trustees of the Communications and Media Commission to work hard for an honest and impartial Iraqi media away from any pressure.
    This came during a meeting held on Monday, February 10, 2014, in his Eminence’s office in Baghdad with the CEO of the Commission, Mr. Safaeddine Rabih and a number of the Commission members. 
    For his part, Mr. Safaeddine Rabih said he listened to the directions of Sayyid al-Hakim and his position concerning his support of this vital sector, adding that there will be continuous meetings with different media bodies in order to listen to their problems so as to reach workable solutions to overcome the obstacles that hinder the continuity and development of the media work and the communication sector.
