At the 25th Ramadan Evening Gathering, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim: Exploiting the Human Soul and Praising Allah the Almighty Are Source of Strength and Tranquility

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said exploiting and developing the human soul and praising Allah the Almighty are source of strength and tranquility, explaining that the vices, sins and corrupt acts cause one to live in a state of loss. According to him, looking back at the history and reading the Holy Quran and how the previous nations turned from a state to another help us know how to deal with the different circumstances and how to win over ourselves and our reality. Here he gave as example the people of Sheba which was destroyed and torn apart because they misused the abundant divine bounties and the security bestowed by Allah, the Almighty on them.
This came during the 25th Ramadan evening gathering held at his Eminence's office in Baghdad, on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
His Eminence said that the human soul is a fertile land that, planted with piety and Allah-fearing, fills the heart with the remembrance of Allah and makes it grow with righteousness and virtue, not to mention the trust, the assurance and the comfort one feels, as Allah says: "by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." He explained that when we are with Allah and our hearts are full with His remembrance, we will be stronger and will have strong determination and will and imperturbability, thus our convictions will not be shaken and nothing will scare us even if the whole world gathers against us, as Allah says: "Those to whom hypocrites said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs." He said that purifying the soul and taking care of it will lead us to success, and that we get disillusioned when we let out ourselves be dragged to corruption and perversion.
